Common questions to ask your electrician
Yes. CNP Electrical electricians hold the required qualifications/licences and insurances to perform the Electrical and Security works.
Yes. CNP Electrical provide a 2 year warranty on workmanship. Installed products are covered by their own manufactures warranties.
All electrical work is completed to Australian/New Zealand Standards AS/NZ3000, taking into account cabling sizing, cable installation path and derating factors.
All work is completed with care and skill ensuring longevity of the installation and existing building structure and aesthetics’
Yes. CNP Electrical will submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) via the Building Commission portal, a copy of this Certificate will be emailed to the client and energy supplier.
Yes. CNP Electrical highly recommend an Electrical Safety Inspection. This will identify any possible dangers and hazards within your electrical system. Electrical Safety Inspections and Rectifications can prevent fires and electrocution.
Safety Inspections are recommended on the purchase of a home, birth of a baby or anytime you can’t remember when you had an Electrical Inspection completed. We recommend yearly inspections to ensure your electrical system is safe, in working order and operating efficiently.
Smoke alarms require 9Vdc batteries replaced yearly; smoke alarms have a 10-year lifespan, then require replacement. Smoke alarms have a sticker with a code that indicates the manufacturer’s date. This code can be googled, and the age of the smoke detector will be evident.
Smoke detectors are required to be interconnected, allowing all smoke detectors to sound when one smoke detector’s sensor detects smoke.
Smoke detectors can be silenced by pressing the ‘hush’ button.
A red light will flash every minute to test the 9V battery. The Smoke alarm will ‘chirp’ when the battery requires replacement. The red light will flash rapidly when it has sensed smoke and triggered an alarm.
An RCD (Residual Current Device) measures the current from the active cable to the neutral cable, if there is a difference in current, this implies an earth leakage current.
An earth leakage current/fault is extremely dangerous as the metal casing of an appliance (Toaster, Kettle, Fridge, Lamp) will be live to touch, causing an electric shock and at worst electrocution.
The RCD will break the circuit when this earth leakage is sensed, ensuring the appliance does not become live and dangerous.
An RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overload/Overcurrent) protection. This protects against earth leakage which cause electrocution and a Circuit Breaker which protects the cable, preventing fires.
At CNP Electrical we choose to install individual RCBO’s on all circuits, providing safety for you and the electrical system.
